'Holiday Looks' Christmas & New Year's Eve Edition

Holiday Glamour!  Elie Tahari Halter Evening Gown.

Holidays are the time for over the top glamour and shine!  Rich gold and silver metallics with vibrant jewel-tones are perfect for this time of year and when making an entrance at that Christmas Ball or New Year's Eve party.  The goal is to look chic and elegant with a touch of shimmer.  When it's time to get ready, you'll need to make sure you compliment the festive surroundings.  That little black dress will need some gold or silver embellishments.  The dress shown above is by NYC designer, Elie Tahari and is simply gorgeous with beautiful rich gold flowers against a satiny background.  This particular design even has hidden pockets! I like to wear a gown like this with a light crinoline underneath which gives it a little lift and movement as it is floor-length. This is a generous women's Size 6 with a long back invisible zipper and very comfortable to wear.  Get more details about this Tahari ASL, Size 6 evening gown now HERE

Black Dress with Embroidered Gold Cranes by Joseph Altuzarra for Target
Here is another holiday look that offers a shorter length but with gold embroidered cranes.  Part of Joseph Altuzarra's capsule collection for Target is this classic black tuxedo dress.  It has a side zipper and angled slit with a comfortable amount of stretch in the fabric.  The dress is understated so accessorize with lots of gold jewelry, including the cuffs as shown here.  Just be sure to match this color gold with the same tone in accessories and you'll be "golden"!  See this Altuzarra Evening Dress Size 12HERE.

Kett Cosmetics Fix Powder, HydroFoundation, Set Powder, compressor and airbrush.
Applying Makeup Like a Pro - One of the best things I've ever had done was to have my foundation matched perfectly by a professional makeup artist.  I consulted with Sheila McKenna, founder of Kett Cosmetics and professional NYC MUA quite a few years ago.  I was familiar with airbrushing makeup on runway models for shows and events. However, Sheila was teaching makeup artists techniques using her equipment that anyone could master with a little practice.  Likewise, her specially formulated Hydro Foundation can be used in her Kett Jett compressor or applied with a sponge.  Here's what I do:
NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my personal "Holy Grail" product.
1.) Moisturize with Embryolisse Lait Cream Concentrate  2.) Prime with L'Oreal Revitalift Miracle Blur  3.) Apply concealer, (NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer) 4.) Airbrush Foundation  5.) Apply eye makeup and blush/contouring using Kett Liquid Shimmers and Metallics for a gorgeous holiday glow. 6.) Apply a rich, red lipstick for a classic look.
When applied via airbrush, you only need about 7-8 drops of the Kett Hydro Foundation to achieve medium to full coverage.
Once that is done, I use the Kett Sett Translucent Loose Powder to set everything in place.  I find it works really well to prevent your concealer from creasing around the eyes and mouth as the evening wears on.
My Kett Cosmetics Airbrush Set: FIXX Powder Foundation in N3, Hydro Foundation, and Kett Sett Loose Powder
So that's it! One of the benefits of airbrushing your makeup is that you use so much less product, therefore it's less apt to transfer onto your evening gown. It also does not fall into fine lines and wrinkles, which can make them even more noticeable. The results last until you take it off as I've come in from a night out and had to make an early engagement the next day. My makeup still looked flawless!  Visit Kett Cosmetics to discover their entire line of cruelty-free and vegan makeup for 2020, the digital age!
