Putting together summer outfits for nearly every occasion is easy if you include a few working staple pieces.  My challenge to you is to replace that ubiquitous white tee shirt with something more airy and feminine.  Here I am at a private marina for lunch, wearing Lilly's pure cotton Mini Geo Eyelet button front top with ruffle details at the sleeves.  It has hem vents so you can easily wear it out as opposed to tucked in.  I've paired this breezy top with a beige linen button-front skirt but you could also do white or navy pants, shorts, or a midi skirt.  So comfortable and cool!

Soft and airy, silk is the perfect summer-weight accessory.  On the water, it keeps the sun and wind off your arms while adjusting to the temperature as only a natural fiber can.  If it gets too warm, you can rusch up the sleeves as shown above or simply tie it around your neck "Newport Style".

So you can easily put together a summer capsule collection that looks polished yet is super cool to wear despite the summer heat.  Focus on white, beige, and blush pieces as they will easily work together to make beautiful outfits this season.
