After the St. Patrick's Day Parade, head over to historic Junior's Cheesecake Restaurant! |
Wearin O' The Green
First of all, wear something green like my leather and fox fur trimmed hooded coat which is perfect for the "Sprinter" weather we've been having in the NYC Metro area lately. Waterproof and lined with Thinsulate - it is one of my favorite looks for 5th Ave. Pop on a warm silk and wool scarf and you'll stand out in the crowd.
Go to or BE IN a Parade
There are loads of St. Patrick's Day parades throughout NY/NJ each weekend in March. While the best may be on 5th past St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC, you can most likely find a local celebration. You just need a few Irish friends and you can have your own festivities! Here I am marching in a local St. Patty's Day Parade with my friends/family and my ribbon as a former Mrs. New Jersey America contestant.

After the Parade, you'll want to warm up a bit. Here's a great authentic recipe for Irish Coffee to enjoy with friends and family. Don't forget the whipped cream!:
Add a jigger of Jameson Irish Whiskey & brown sugar to your coffee. |

KRUPS Latteccino features a modern and dynamic design complete with both an 8-cup glass coffee carafe and 8.5 oz milk frother to easily prepare froth for up to 4 beverages at once. The two-function milk frother heats milk and froths at the same time, and the easy-to-use control panel with a coffee, milk heating and milk heating and frothing button makes the machine extremely easy to operate. A cappuccino accessory is included for each pouring along with a recipe book. ($150)
Corned Beef on Rye
After the parade, stop in at Junior's (Cheesecake) Restaurant in Brooklyn for their world famous Corned Beef or Pastrami on Rye. Their Rubens are a NYC classic served with garlic pickles, slaw, beets, Russian dressing and their own signature mustard.
