Fidias Gallery Reception for Freehold Art Society

Freehold, NJ A superb evening for an artists' reception was enjoyed by all on March 1, 2014 at Fidias Art Gallery, located at 12 Court Street in downtown Freehold, NJ. This well attended event welcomed the  work of members of the Freehold Art Society. This group's members are very active in the community as one of their functions is to arrange exhibits where artists are able to display their work locally. I actually saw this concept in action having viewed artist Dr. Joel Stern's one man exhibit in 2004 at Monmouth County Library Headquaters in Manalapan, NJ.

Freehold Art Society is a non-profit, volunteer organization whose mission is to further appreciation of the visual arts in Western Monmouth County. Fidias Art Gallery was the perfect venue for their reception as it is the county seat of Monmouth and in an area of cultural and historical significance.

There were several examples of various mediums represented as well as chairs which were painted in a bold, colorful "mural" style often seen in LA, namely El Barrio.

Fidias Wine & Cheese reception offered Freehold Art Society more than just an appropriate venue to exhibit. Each member represented there was given a few moments to introduce themselves and their work to a standing room only crowd of appreciative attendees.
